Software

KaZaA Lite: http://doa2.host.sk/

KaZaA Lite is pretty much the same as the original KaZaA Media Desktop. The fundamental difference is that the Lite version has all the horrid spyware and adware stripped out. It also has a some other features which are quite handy!

Share Monkey Speedup (Note: clicking the link will start the download!)
This is a great companion proggie to KaZaA or KaZaA Lite. It forces KaZaA to search for more sources more often, and can sometimes make a big difference, and sometime... no difference at all.

Direct Connect: http://www.neo-modus.com/
Another peer to peer filesharing program. It has an interface simalar to IRC. I didn't have much luck with it, but some people have awesome luck. It's a group of server hubs and you can search inside the hubs for which file you want, and download off one user- if the user goes off line you file is queued untill the user comes back on.

DC++ http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/
I'm not sure if this is an add on for Direct Connect, or a different program that lets you acess the same network. I could never get it to install properly, but I heard reports of up to 65 K a second, and being able to download whole series in one or two days. I'm just too retarded to figure it out ;_; It apparently auto-searches for more sources if the user you are downloading off of goes off line, and allows you to multi-source your downloads, as well as being in more then one hub at a time.

MIRC : www.mirc.com
A client used to connect to various IRC networks.

FTP: www.download.com
To get to FTP servers, you need a client. Check out this list of different clients available @ www.download.com here

FlashFXP : http://www.flashfxp.com/
This is a program that allows you to multi-source your downloads, and resume downloads that have been disconnected. For use with an FTP Client.
